"But he's the suspect who makes sense," Elle says. "We don't have evidence to point to anything else either. What makes you so sure he's telling the truth?" They have to hold their clients' trust, she knows that, and that, to some degree, means believing them in turn. But they also have to think critically, and he's on the stand for a reason. Maybe there isn't enough evidence to convict, but that doesn't mean he's innocent, and letting someone go on a technicality doesn't sit well with her.
